Cartophily encompasses the collection of various types of cards, including:
1. Trade cards (often advertising or promotional cards from the 19th and early 20th centuries)
2. Sports cards (e.g., baseball cards, football cards)
3. Comic book cards: Cards related to superheroes and comic book / anime / manga characters (e.g., Marvel and DC comics).
4. Celebrity cards: Cards featuring famous personalities or actors.
5. Trading Card Games (TCGs): Cards from games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and other collectible card games (CCGs).

8. Smart Cards ( cards are primarily used for electronic payments, usually for highway toll, parking and retailing )
9. Royalty Cards / Reward Cards
10. Non-sport cards (such as those from movies, TV shows, or other collectible themes)

It's a broad term that covers any form of card collecting beyond just playing cards or specific games. The practice can be a serious pursuit involving rare or vintage cards, and many collectors focus on specific themes or sets.
